Let's face it, gut issues are terrible. Even a slight change in your gut can ruin a day.
This is true for both caregivers and their aging loved ones. Why do we get these gastrointestinal issues? Could it be our diet? A new article from Care2.com says that might be the answer.
Check out these foods that may cause gut problems:
1. Sugar. As Care2.com says, the bad bacteria in our gut feeds off of sugar, so you may experience imbalance and inflammation by excess sugar.
2. Grains. We've all heard of ruffage. Well, too much might actually hurt your gut.
3. Dairy. Bad news, ice cream lovers. Dairy products may cause an issue for your gut. If this is the case, you may have a mild lactose intolerance.
4. Stress. Stress can change the composition of the microbiome while increasing gut permeability, which leads to a leakage. Calm down, for the sake of you gut!
As you can see, there are many things that can hurt your gut. However, if you watch your diet and stress levels, you will be feeling good in no time.
